This volume contains studies by Thomas De Koninck, István M. Bugár, Kristell Trego, Miklós Maróth, Philippe Vallat, Péter Erdő, Jean-François de Raymond and Rémi Brague. They were presented in the form of a lecture given at a conference organised in honour of Rémi Brague by the French Institute of Budapest.
The main themes of the studies are as follows: antique and medieval philosophy based on Aristotle’s Aristote et la question du monde de Rémi Brague; the historical examination of philosophical and theological discourses, in particular through Greek patriarchy; the separation of ethical ideals rooted in anthropology from the thesis of cosmic wisdom; science and rhetoric in the psychology of Ibn Bāğğa; the actualities of medieval researchers; the affinity of theology and law within the institutional framework of the Church; and the philosophy of diplomacy. The last part of the volume contains a summary of Rémi Brague and his comments on each study.
