The book of our researcher, Csorba Zsuzsanna entitled A Late Mamluk Medical Regimen for Travellers, Ibn al‑Amshāṭī’s al-Isfār ʿan ḥikam al-asfār, Critical Edition, Translation, and Commentary has been published by Brill.

The 15^th-century Cairene jurist-physician, Ibn al‑Amšāṭī (d. 1496) dedicated his travel regimen, entitled ‘The unveiling of the wisdoms of the books’ to the head of the Mamluk Chancery, Kamāl al‑Dīn al‑Bārizī (d. 1452). An interesting example of the postclassical medical literature, this work is not only a travel regimen but it also contains a short pharmacopoeia in which Ibn al‑Amšāṭī provides a list of simple and compound remedies, together with the recipes of the latter, deemed useful for the traveller.
