The Kőbánya Homeland and Law Enforcement Days event series was held for the 17th time at Óhegy Park from August 31 to September 1 this year, with our colleagues once again participating on behalf of the Avicenna Institute of Middle Eastern Studies. The event offered a variety of programs for visitors of all ages, from the youngest to the elderly.

During the two-day event, our researchers—Gyöngyi Oroszi, Mónika Schönléber, and István Lánczky—presented monographs and study volumes covering a wide range of topics published in the institute’s book series. They provided information about the ongoing scientific work at the institute, the research areas of the colleagues, and gave a general overview of Islam, its modern-day issues, and challenges in response to questions from visitors. Among the publications, the greatest interest was shown in Miklós Martóh’s Az iszlám keletkezése és fejlődése (The Origins and Development of Islam) and Zoltán Szombathy’s Az iszlám Fekete-Afrikában (Islam in Black Africa).
