One of the researchers of the Institute, András Mércz conducted research in German archives and libraries between 30 May and 8 June 2022. In the Bavarian State Archives he examined manuscripts and prints related to the history of Syriac printing. Furthermore, he discovered a Hungarian garshuni document. In the Hesse State Archives in Wiesbaden, he examined the library catalogues of the Herborn College which flourished between 1584 to 1817. Based on a note by Johann von Lent, professor and librarian of the college, some of the Syriac letters of Andreas Masius were kept in Herborn in his time.
