On June 12, 2019, the second series of conferences entitled The Role of Religion in Shaping Politics was jointly organized by the Avicenna Institute of Middle Eastern Studies (AKKKI) and the National University of Public Service (NKE). To open the event, Boglárka Koller, Dean of the Faculty of International and European Studies, and Miklós Maróth, Director of our Institute, signed a cooperation agreement. In his opening speech, Dr. Ferenc Dancs, Deputy State Secretary for Migration Challenges from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, drew attention to the present-day threats of migration. At the all-day scientific conference entitled Nation, State, Tribe, Ummah – Different Forms of Community Formation in Europe and Outside Europe, researchers from the two Institutes explored the relationship between religion and state organization.
