Zsuzsanna Csorba participated in the Franco-German Spring School of manuSciences’19 – Manuscripts from Fragments to Books – from Identification to Interpretation from March 10-15, 2019 that was jointly organised by four institutions (BAM, CSMC, EPHE and PSL).

The training course focused on the versatile examination of manuscripts: participants were introduced to a variety of physical and chemical examinations (XRF – X-Ray Fluorescence Microscopy, reflectography, FTIR – Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy), MSI – Multispectral Imagingand data treatment, Computational Manuscript Treatment, TEI – the Text Encoding Initiative with some basic questions about palaeography and codicology, as well as preparing and examining writing materials and inks. During the training course, the trainers, after the theoretical courses, provided the opportunity to put all the tests and methods into practise.
