From July 23-27, 2018, András Mércz, a member of the Avicenna Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, conducted research in the archives of Vienna. During the five days he spent there, he visited the Municipal and Provincial Archives of Vienna (Wiener Stadt- und Landesarchiv) and the Austrian State Archives (Österreichisches Staatsarchiv) to gather information on the circumstances of the first Syrian edition of the Bible. The greatest result of the research trip was the discovery of the Coat of Arms of Moses of Mardin, the existence of which had been unknown.
